I have worked as an archaeologist, a tutor (Greek, ancient Greek, Latin, English, History et.al.), a translator, a Mentor at a big educational platform & an administrative assistant. Ι strongly believe that apart from knowledgeable, a good teacher has to be a good listener, and a learner himself -open to ideas and suggestions -. At some point, we have all had teachers who made school unbearable for us that is the reason why I try to stir away from that "model" by trying to create a bond with my students and making my lessons as fun as possible with humorous stories, etc. During the first lesson, we will set the overall goals, objectives & what we want you to take away from our lessons. I will suggest certain placement tests so that we can have a clearer idea of your language level as well as of your type of learning.
Making connections between the new information and the prior knowledge, between the language we will be learning and other languages, integrating arts, music, movies & every other creative option are only some of the methods I will be using to facilitate your learning. I will give you options not for assignments but for "home-fun" as I call it. I am open to "flipping the classroom" after a while if you want to try. And there are many many more that I couldn't possibly explain in just a few words. I hope to see you soon! :-)
