I am an experienced teacher having taught for more than 30 years in schools, colleges and universities. My science degree is Maritime Geography, I have a post graduate teaching qualification and a CELTA qualification in teaching English.
I haven’t also been a teacher, I’ve also worked in industry, for the BBC and in newspapers so I have a wide range of experiences to draw on.
I find that people have lots of different motivations for learning English. Perhaps you are taking your IELTs or TOEFL test to start university, maybe you want to be more confident at work when dealing with international clients or you may just want to learn English for the fun of it. Whatever the reason, I would be glad to help you on the journey.
As well as helping learners to improve their English, I also help people with presentations, writing website content and proofreading.
But learning a language is not all about grammar and vocabulary – it’s about having fun and experiencing the thrill of being able to communicate in a foreign country.
What do I do when I am not helping learners?
I play music in a band, I go canoeing and I take photographs.
So, if you want to learn with me get in touch. I am organised, reliable and I make learning to be fun.
