I started my teaching career in 1985 as an EFL and German/French teacher at Bracknell College of Further Education where I also co-ordinated all the language courses. I taught in companies and I delivered lessons to overseas high school and university students as well as teaching English and business studies to UK students. I then became a secondary teacher at Robert May's School and for the last 17 years I have taught German, French, Spanish and English to secondary and primary pupils; I have motivated my students by delivering fun and engaging lessons and giving clear and easy-to-remember explanations. In 2012 I was presented with 'German Teacher of the Year' Award by the German Ambassador in London.
I have set up and run a German exchange with Berlin for the last 14 years and I have also lived abroad and so I know the kind of linguistic and cultural challenges students may face.
I have taught all levels of language from beginner to more advanced and I have constantly redesigned course content to make my teaching relevant and interesting. The UK curriculum is ever-changing and so as a teacher it is essential to stay ahead of the latest developments and trends. I have great energy and enthusiasm and I have high expectations of my students. This is reflected in the excellent results which my pupils achieve and I do my best to help them realise their full potential at all times.
I love working and teaching and I have now decided that I would like to travel to different destinations from my office and teach English online. I am passionate about languages
and the way they work; I am now very excited to be able to share my linguistic and
cultural knowledge of English with all the students I meet, whichever part of the world they may live in.
